Polymaker PC-ABS is a blend of polycarbonate and ABS material, which leads to a filament with industrial engineering properties. Excellent toughness, heat resistance and a good surface finish with the option to be used as end-use parts.

How to print Polymaker PC-ABS?
The right settings for printing PC-ABS can be found in the next bullet point. What is recommended during printing are the right items, such as the build platform or the adhesion materials. We recommend a flexible plate (for easy removal) and Dimafix.

Because PC-ABS will wear down your nozzle faster, we recommend a full-metal hot-end and nozzle, which can withstand temperatures of 250°C and higher with ease. For the nozzle, a stainless steel or ruby nozzle is a good solution. Possibilities are the Ruby Nozzle or the Print Core CC Red.

Post-processing your printed parts
We also recommend annealing each print made with Polymaker PC-ABS. Annealing allows users to take advantage of the full mechanical and thermal properties of its prints. The process consists of putting the printed part in an oven at 100°C for 2 hours.

Polymaker PC-ABS can also be metallized. This is done by the deposition of a metallic layer in a high vacuum or by electroplating. The best adhesion metals in this process with PC-ABS are aluminum, tin or copper.

Painting your parts is also a possibility. Essential to this is that you ensure the surface of the print is free of dust and grease before starting. Using a polyurethane-based coating will improve results as well. Lastly, welding (ultrasonic, vibration, friction, hot plate or laser welding) and bonding (both to PC-ABS and other materials) are optional.
