Kodak Portrait, the first 3D-printer on the market by the iconic brand Kodak. With this unit, Kodak is entering the market of 3D-printing. The Portrait 3D-Printer has a fully enclosed environment, an intuitive user interface and a dual extrusion system.
Closed Printing Chamber
Kodak has given the Portrait a fully enclosed printing chamber, in which the temperature is controlled at all times. The combination of this temperature control with different swappable hotends offers unlimited possibilities.
The Portrait 3D-printer also calibrates it printbed automatically. This print bed, which is a glass bed with magnetic snaps, has a build volume of 200 x 200 x 235mm. During printing, build in HEPA and air control filters strain the air from released gas.
Dual Extrusion System
With the dual extrusion print head, each user is allowed to combine multiple materials or multiple colors within one print. Easy to swap hotends in different materials (a metal and a PTFE hotend are available) make it easy to print a variety of materials.
The automatic nozzle lifting function, which retracts the unused nozzle automatically, provides a bigger security during printing. The metal hotend can heat up to 295°C, which makes it easier for materials like HIPS, PETG, Nylon and others to be extruded.
On top of it all, you can choose yourself the way you control your Kodak Portrait. Via the WiFi connection you can do everything from your desktop, using the online function. That way you don’t have to stay with your machine at all times.
On the Portrait itself, Kodak has placed a 5” Color Display which is easily used. Different languages, fast swiping and easy controls let you use the Kodak Portrait close by. Connect your LAN or USB to the printer and start your print.
Variety of materials
Kodak has also launched their own range of materials. These pure polymer materials, from PLA and ABS to Nylon, were carefully developed and produced. The materials of Kodak offer amazing results on the Portrait 3D-printer. And the preset printing profiles you can find in the slicing software will help you even more easing things up.
